Dr. Tihema Nicol & Mid Thomas-Savelio

“Are you ticking the ‘Yes’ box?”
Cultural competency and safety obligations for your APC.

The talk given by Dr. Nicol will focus on the obligations towards successfully meeting the cultural competence obligations under the new DCNZ Guidelines.

Tihema is a general dentist from Wellington who graduated from Otago in 2014. She has worked across the public and the private sector in Wellington and in Rotorua. More recently she has taken up the community dentist role at Bee Healthy mentoring the oral health therapists as well as working on exciting population health projects. 

Tihema often gets roped in to sit on boards and executives. She is the treasurer for Te Ao Marama the Maori dentist association. She also has advisory roles with RACDS and Faculty of dentistry. 

Outside of dentistry Tihema enjoys travelling and dabbles in a bit of artwork.

Mid Thomas-Savelio
Mid is the Managing Director at Be Suite Limited and is a known as a cultural leader with a proven record of high staff satisfaction, excellent customer service and strong commercial results. She will speak about NZ History with a focus on Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi), New Zealand’s founding document.
